Progress

Saturday was our game jam where we built the first prototype for our game.

CS Team

  • Basic controls for aiming and propelling.
  • Add knockback on collision.
  • Modelled a basic arena.

Music Team

  • Battle soundtrack.
  • Looping ambient wind noise.
  • Collision sound.

Art Team

  • 3D model and texture for our playable character.
  • 3D models for an airplane turbine, airplane tail, chair, clouds, and a bird.


Discoveries

CS Team

  • Movement in 3D zero-g is VERY hard. We'll likely need to spend a lot more time than we anticipated tweaking and tuning the movement to make it as smooth and intuitive as possible.


Next Steps

CS Team

  • Integrate controller support using Unity's new input system.
  • UML diagram for the game elements we plan to build.
  • Integrate FMOD into our Unity project.

Music Team

  • A few more tracks that fit the intensity of our gameplay idea.
  • Otherwise, mostly on stand-by since the game is still in design stage.

Art Team

  • A few more assets and textures for the environment and battlefield.
  • Otherwise, mostly on stand-by since the game is still in design stage.

As a team we'll need to make some concrete decisions about our player character, environment, and theme.
